🚩 Laps

No laps yet — press Lap while the stopwatch is running.

🕘 Saved Sessions

How to use every option

  1. Start / Pause / Reset — Start begins counting up from zero; Pause freezes the display (Start resumes from the same point); Reset clears the current stopwatch back to zero after confirming.
  2. Lap — while running, click Lap (or press L) to record a split without stopping the clock. Each row shows the cumulative split time and the individual lap (segment) time since the previous lap.
  3. Rename or annotate a lap — click a lap's name to rename it (e.g. "Mile 3"), and type in its notes field to attach a short description; both are saved with the session.
  4. Undo Lap — removes the most recently recorded lap if you tapped it by mistake.
  5. Multiple stopwatches — click the "+" tab above the display to create another independent stopwatch with its own title, laps, and controls; switch between them with the tabs.
  6. Precision & format — choose milliseconds/centiseconds/whole-second display precision, and HH:MM:SS, MM:SS, or decimal-seconds formatting for the big clock and lap list.
  7. Sound & voice — pick a lap sound (Beep/Chime/Click/None), set its volume, optionally play a sound on start/stop, enable vibration on lap (supported mobile browsers), or turn on spoken lap announcements.
  8. Auto-lap — set a number of seconds and the stopwatch records a lap automatically on that interval without you pressing anything, useful for interval training.
  9. Target lap alert — set a target time and whether the alert should trigger when a lap goes over or under it; matching laps are flagged and can play a sound.
  10. Keep screen awake — uses the Wake Lock API so your device display won't dim or lock while the stopwatch is running (releases automatically on pause).
  11. Search & sort laps — filter the lap list by name/notes, and sort by newest, oldest, fastest, or slowest lap time.
  12. Export — copy laps to your clipboard, download CSV or TXT, export/import the whole session (title, laps, settings) as JSON, generate a shareable snapshot image, or print a clean report.
  13. Fullscreen — expands the big clock to fill the screen for visibility from a distance; press F or Esc to toggle.
  14. Save & revisit sessions — click "Save Current Session" to keep a snapshot in Saved Sessions on this device; click any entry later to reload it.
  15. Auto-restore — if you close the tab mid-session, reopening the page within 24 hours offers to restore exactly where you left off.

Frequently Asked Questions

A split time is the total elapsed time from the very start up to that lap. A lap time (segment time) is only the duration of that one interval, measured from the previous lap. This tool shows both side by side.

It reads the system clock on every animation frame rather than counting ticks, so elapsed time stays accurate even if the tab is backgrounded, throttled, or the device lags.

Your session auto-saves to this browser every few seconds. Reloading or reopening the page within 24 hours offers the option to restore it exactly where you left off.

Yes. Use the "+" tab to create additional independent stopwatches — each has its own laps, title, and controls, useful for timing multiple people or tasks at once.

Yes. Click a lap's name to rename it, and use the notes field on each lap row to add a short description — both are saved with the session.

Auto-lap automatically records a lap every N seconds without you pressing anything. A target-time alert flags a lap (and can play a sound) when its split time goes over or under a threshold you set.

Yes. Copy laps to the clipboard, download a CSV or plain-text file, export/import full sessions as JSON, or generate a shareable snapshot image of your lap table.

No. Timing, laps, sounds, and history all run and stay entirely in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to or stored on our servers.
