How to use every option

  1. Pick a mode — Stopwatch counts up, Countdown counts down (one or many at once), Interval alternates work/rest rounds.
  2. Stopwatch: Start, Lap, Reset — click Start to begin, click Lap while running to record a split (each lap shows both the lap time and the running total), and Reset once stopped to clear it.
  3. Rename a lap or add notes — click the label or notes cell of any recorded lap to edit it inline; changes save automatically.
  4. Export laps — use Copy to copy the lap table as text, or Download CSV to save it as a spreadsheet file.
  5. Countdown: choose Duration or a specific date/time — Duration uses hours/minutes/seconds (or a quick preset chip); "Specific date & time" counts down to a calendar moment, e.g. an exam or event start.
  6. Name and add a timer — give it a label and click "+ Add Timer"; it appears as its own card under Active Timers with independent Pause/Resume/Reset/Remove controls.
  7. Repeat — toggle "Repeat until stopped" so a duration timer restarts automatically each time it reaches zero, until you remove it.
  8. Interval/Tabata: set work, rest, rounds, warm-up and cool-down — click Start to run through the full sequence; round dots below the clock show progress, and the background/sound changes between work and rest phases.
  9. Pick an alarm sound and volume — choose from five built-in tones (generated locally, no downloads) or upload your own audio file; use Test Sound to preview it.
  10. Enable notifications and vibration — desktop notifications alert you even if the tab isn't focused; vibration gives a short buzz on supported phones when a timer finishes.
  11. Use Fullscreen on Stopwatch, Countdown timers, or Interval for a distraction-free large clock with a customizable background color.
  12. Keyboard shortcuts — Space starts/pauses the active mode's primary timer, L records a stopwatch lap, R resets the stopwatch (shortcuts are ignored while typing in a field).
  13. Review history — every completed session (stopwatch run, finished countdown, or interval workout) is logged locally; clear it anytime.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stopwatch counts up from zero to measure how long something takes, with laps. Countdown counts down from a set duration or to a specific date/time and alerts you at zero — you can run several at once. Interval (Tabata-style) alternates work and rest periods for a set number of rounds.

Yes. Add as many named timers as you like from the Countdown panel; each runs independently with its own pause, resume, reset, and completion alert.

Yes. Every recorded lap has an editable label and a short notes field, so you can tag what happened at that split.

Bell, Chime, Digital Beep, Classic Alarm, and Buzzer, all generated locally using the Web Audio API — no audio files are downloaded. You can also upload your own sound file.

The page title updates live with the remaining time so you can see it in the tab bar, and if you allow desktop notifications, a system notification appears when a timer finishes even if the tab isn't focused.

No. Every timer, lap, sound, and history entry runs and is stored entirely in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server.

No. Like any browser-based timer, it only runs while the tab is open and the device is awake. Countdown timers store their target end time, so reopening the tab before it ends will still show the correct remaining time.

It alternates fixed work and rest periods for a chosen number of rounds — a common structure for workouts, study sprints, or any repeated work/rest cycle — with a distinct sound and screen color for each phase.

Yes. Stopwatch, Countdown, and Interval each have a fullscreen focus view showing just a large clock and basic controls, with a customizable background color.
