πŸ”“ PDF Password Remover

Unlock PDFs
& password-protected ZIPs

Batch-decrypt PDFs, open locked ZIP archives, and optionally re-protect your output β€” all instantly, in your browser.

Upload Files

Drop PDFs or ZIP archives, or select them below. Everything is processed locally.

πŸ•˜ Local History

File names and counts only β€” never passwords or file content β€” saved on this device.

No history yet. Unlock a file to see it appear here.

How to use this tool

  1. Upload files β€” drag PDFs and/or ZIP archives into the drop zone, or click to browse. You can mix multiple PDFs and ZIPs in one batch.
  2. Unlock ZIPs first β€” if a ZIP is password-protected, you'll be prompted for its password immediately; once opened, every file inside is listed in the table with its own row.
  3. Enter each PDF's password β€” type the password into that row's field, or check"Use one password for every file" and clickApply to All if every file shares the same password.
  4. Search if needed β€” use the search box to jump to a specific file name in a large batch.
  5. Set output names β€” edit the "Output Name" field on any row to rename the unlocked file before export.
  6. Choose export options β€” optionally set a new password on the output PDFs, clear old owner/permission restrictions, bundle everything into a ZIP, and optionally password-protect that ZIP.
  7. Click "Unlock & Process" β€” watch the progress bar, then download files individually or all together as a ZIP.
  8. Fix a wrong password β€” if a file fails, its row is flagged red; retype the password in that row and process again without losing your other files.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Every PDF and ZIP is opened, decrypted, and re-packaged entirely in your browser using pdf.js, pdf-lib, and JSZip. Nothing is sent to or stored on our servers.

Yes. Upload as many PDFs as you like, enter each one's password in the file table (or use one shared password for all), and process them together.

Yes. Upload the ZIP, enter its password when prompted, and the tool lists every file inside. Any PDFs inside that are themselves password-protected get their own password field.

Encrypted PDFs are decrypted for viewing with pdf.js and rebuilt page-by-page. This preserves the visual layout precisely, though it flattens each page into a fresh, unencrypted PDF rather than editing the original encrypted structure in place.

Yes. After unlocking, you can optionally re-protect the output PDF with a new password, protect the export ZIP with its own password, or both.

The row is flagged and you can retype the password and retry immediately, without re-uploading the file or losing progress on the other files.

Yes. Use the search box above the file table to filter by file name across all uploaded PDFs and ZIP contents.
