How to use every option

  1. Set up a profile — the profile bar at the top lets you add, rename, or remove profiles; each keeps its own assets, liabilities, settings, and history.
  2. Pick your currency and rates in Settings — currency only changes formatting, while the expected return and inflation rate feed the projector and goal planner below.
  3. Add every asset — click "+ Add Asset", name it, pick a category (Cash & Bank, Investments, Retirement, Real Estate, Vehicles, Business Equity, Cryptocurrency, Personal Property, Other), enter its value, and check "Liquid" if it's cash or easily sellable.
  4. Add every liability — mortgage balance, credit cards, student loans, auto loans, personal loans, or anything else you owe.
  5. Filter long lists using the search box above each table to quickly find a specific row.
  6. Read your summary — Net Worth, Total Assets, Total Liabilities, Liquid Net Worth, and Debt-to-Asset Ratio update live, alongside category breakdown charts.
  7. Compare to your age group — pick a bracket to see rounded Federal Reserve median and average figures next to your own number.
  8. Project the future — choose a return preset or type your own, set years and a monthly contribution, and toggle inflation-adjustment to see the result in today's purchasing power alongside the nominal figure.
  9. Solve for a savings goal — enter a target amount and date; the tool works out the monthly contribution needed at your current return rate.
  10. Track milestones — common net worth thresholds light up as you cross them, with a progress bar toward the next one.
  11. Save snapshots over time — click "💾 Save Snapshot" whenever you update your numbers to build a trend line and, once you have two or more, your real compound annual growth rate (CAGR).
  12. Export or print — download your full breakdown as CSV or JSON, or print a clean report; "Reset This Profile" clears only the active profile's data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Net worth is everything you own (assets) minus everything you owe (liabilities). This tool totals every asset row, subtracts every liability row, and updates the result instantly as you type.

Liquid net worth is cash, bank balances, or easily sold investments. Illiquid net worth includes real estate, retirement accounts, vehicles, and business equity, which take time or cost money to convert to cash.

The Federal Reserve's 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances, the most recent published edition. Figures are rounded household medians and averages by age bracket, for reference only.

It compounds your current net worth monthly at your chosen annual return rate and adds your monthly contribution each month. Turning on inflation adjustment also shows the result in today's purchasing power.

No. It's a projection based on a constant assumed return, which real markets never deliver exactly year to year. Use it to compare scenarios, not as a guarantee.

Enter a target net worth and target date. Using your current net worth and expected annual return, it solves for the monthly contribution needed to reach that target by then.

No. Every calculation, snapshot, and profile is stored only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is ever sent to a server.

Yes. Use the profile bar to add, rename, switch, or remove separate profiles — each with its own assets, liabilities, and history.

CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) is the smoothed yearly growth rate between two points in time. Once you've saved at least two snapshots, the tool calculates your actual CAGR between your earliest and most recent snapshot.
