      How to use every section

      1. Create or select a budget — use "New Budget" for a separate plan (e.g. personal vs. side-business), pick the budget period (monthly/weekly/bi-weekly/yearly), and your currency symbol.
      2. Add income sources — every paycheck or income stream, with its own frequency; the tool converts everything to your chosen budget period automatically.
      3. Add expense categories — set a budgeted amount and actual spent amount per category, tag Fixed (rent) vs Variable (groceries), and use "Add Common Presets" to quickly populate typical categories.
      4. Check the Summary — total income, budgeted, actual, net remaining, and your savings rate update live as you edit.
      5. Compare against the 50/30/20 rule — tag categories as Needs, Wants, or Savings to see how your actual split compares to the guideline.
      6. Review the charts — a pie chart of actual spending by category, and a bar comparison of budgeted vs. actual per category.
      7. Set savings goals — name a goal, a target amount, and optionally a target date; progress bars show how close you are.
      8. Plan debt payoff — add each debt's balance, interest rate, and minimum payment; the tool orders them by Snowball (smallest balance first) and Avalanche (highest rate first).
      9. Size your emergency fund — pick how many months of expenses to cover and see the target amount and remaining gap.
      10. Track sinking funds — for known irregular costs like insurance premiums or holiday gifts, set a target and target date to see the suggested monthly set-aside.
      11. Track net worth — list assets and liabilities separately; the difference is your net worth.
      12. Add bill due dates — list recurring bills with a due day so you can see what's coming up.
      13. Save monthly snapshots — click "Save This Month to History" to build a month-over-month comparison table.
      14. Export or back up — download a CSV for spreadsheets, a JSON backup you can re-import later or on another device, or print a clean report.
