How to use every option

1. Add your text — paste/type it, upload a .txt/.md file (drag & drop works too), or fetch it directly from a public URL.
2. Pick a basis — "Count Words" analyzes word frequency; "Count Characters" switches the main table to per-character counts and percentages.
3. Case sensitive — off (default) treats "The" and "the" as one word; turn it on to count them separately.
4. Ignore punctuation — strips symbols like commas and periods from words before counting, so "word," and "word" count as the same word.
5. Exclude numbers — drops purely numeric tokens (e.g. "2024") from the results.
6. Remove stop words — filters a built-in list of common English words (the, and, is, etc.) so the table highlights meaningful terms.
7. Custom exclude list — type any comma-separated words you want removed regardless of the stop-word setting.
8. Minimum length / minimum occurrences — hide short words (like single letters) or words that only appear once.
9. Sort by — order the table by frequency (either direction) or alphabetically.
10. Live analysis — updates the table automatically as you type, instead of waiting for the Analyze button.
11. Review the stats panel — total/unique words, characters, sentences, paragraphs, lexical density, average word length, longest word, and uppercase/lowercase split.
12. Use the frequency table — search it, then copy, or export as CSV, JSON, or a plain .txt word list.
13. Check the word cloud — a quick visual read of which words dominate the text.
14. Review repeated phrases — switch between two-word (bigram) and three-word (trigram) phrase counts to catch repetitive phrasing single-word counts miss.
15. Check character frequency and word-length distribution — useful for language/cipher-style analysis or readability review.
16. Highlight top words — set how many of the most frequent words to highlight directly inside your original text.
17. Revisit past runs from Local History, or clear it whenever you like.
