🎲 Random Number Generator

Any range,
any precision, instantly

Integers or arbitrary-precision decimals, multiple numbers and sets, exclusions, crypto-secure or seeded mode, dice/lottery presets, stats — all in your browser.

⚡ Quick Presets

Loads common settings instantly — you can still tweak anything below before generating.

1. Range & Basics

Decimals are built digit-by-digit as text, so precision isn't limited by normal floating-point numbers.

2. Repeats, Order & Uniqueness

3. Exclusions

Comma-separated. Excluded values/ranges are never produced, even with decimals (integer part is checked).

4. Output Formatting

5. Randomness Engine

A seed makes results reproducible (same seed + settings = same sequence) but is not cryptographically secure — don't use a seed for giveaways, security, or anything requiring unpredictability.

How to use every option

  1. Quick Presets — click a chip like "2 Dice (2d6)" or "Lottery 6/49" to instantly load matching settings, then adjust anything below and generate.
  2. Min / Max — the inclusive range numbers are generated within. Negative values and decimals are supported in both fields.
  3. Numbers per set / Number of sets — how many values each generated group contains, and how many separate groups to produce in one click.
  4. Generate decimals — toggle on, then set decimal places; digits are generated as text so you can request far more precision than a normal number could hold accurately.
  5. Allow repeated values — turn off to make every number within a set unique; combine with "unique across all sets" to prevent any value from appearing twice anywhere in the output.
  6. Never repeat the immediately previous number — stops back-to-back duplicates even when repeats are otherwise allowed, useful for shuffled playlists or turn order.
  7. Sort each set — leave as generation order, or force ascending/descending; "Shuffle again" re-randomizes the order after generating (useful with sorted+unique lottery-style sets).
  8. Exclude specific numbers / ranges — comma-separated values or ranges (e.g. 10-20) that should never appear, even if they fall inside Min/Max.
  9. Delimiter & Layout — choose how numbers are separated (space, tab, comma, pipe, or custom) and whether sets stack as rows or as side-by-side columns.
  10. Number base — for whole numbers only, output as binary, octal, hexadecimal, or Roman numerals instead of decimal.
  11. Padding, prefix, suffix, set labels — pad numbers with leading zeros to a fixed width, wrap them with custom text, and optionally show a label like "Set 1:" before each group.
  12. Randomness engine — cryptographically secure mode (default) uses the Web Crypto API; entering a seed switches to a reproducible (non-secure) sequence instead.
  13. Generate — click the button, press the spacebar anywhere on the page, or turn on auto-regenerate to refresh on a timer.
  14. Output panel — copy the result, export as .txt/.csv/.json, and review live statistics (min, max, sum, mean, median, standard deviation) plus a frequency breakdown.
  15. Local History — every generation is saved to this device only; click an entry to instantly restore that exact output.

Frequently Asked Questions

By default this tool uses the Web Crypto API, a cryptographically secure pseudo-random source suitable for games, giveaways, testing, and most everyday needs. A seeded mode is also available for reproducible, non-secure sequences.

Yes. Decimal digits are built as text rather than a floating-point number, so you can request a large number of decimal places without rounding errors or precision limits.

Yes. Set how many numbers per set and how many sets you want; each set can optionally be unique within itself or unique across all sets combined.

Yes. List individual numbers to exclude, or exclude one or more ranges (e.g. 10-20), and they will never appear in the output.

Entering a seed switches from the cryptographically secure generator to a reproducible pseudo-random generator — the same seed and settings always produce the same sequence, useful for testing or sharing a result.

No. Every number is generated locally in your browser. Nothing you enter or generate is sent to or stored on our servers; history is saved only in this browser's local storage.

Yes. Use the Quick Presets panel for common dice notations (e.g. 2d6), lottery-style unique picks, coin flips, PINs, and percentages.

Yes, for whole numbers. Choose Binary, Octal, or Hexadecimal in Output Formatting — this option is unavailable when generating decimals.
